with an all german cast done i believe in the late 70's. too tired to go to imdb to look it up, but it was a great movie. but why not any include the classic "it's a mad mad mad world" in your list for the comedy genre. or even "manhattan" by woody allen, or let's go all the back to the original classics...anything by sergei eisenstein. one of the best being "october". and then there is the classics i took my name from...myrna loy and william powell, and a dog named asta in the thin man series of movies. comedic mystery movies set in the 30's and 40's.
