I used to absolutely hate that when I was on dialup. People can be forgetful when you've had a high speed dedicated connect awhile and or faster computers. I had some of my aquaintances from ham radio or other things send me massive files. My roommate got drowned in them more than I did. We had to say more than once at least to one fellow "please remember our computers are older and we are on a 56K connect... it messes up our mail and causes other problems to be sent huge attachments" I think sadly we actually ended up getting broadband before the people fully got the hint.(others had complained to them for the exact same reason we did at the time)

But good for you. Though your dad would be pretty angry he'd finally grasp what your talking about. 5M files are the largest I can get as an attachment in my broadband emails.(the people in question before were on the same service and going to the limit on that attachment size) If your dad is on dialup or broadband a 5M file should do the trick for irritation or just above that file size.
