(Monty Python And The Holy Grail Digital Versatile Disc, of course)
I can only recommend it, really. Lots of material, such as a BBC documentation of the shooting (boy, Terry Gilliam sure did giggle a lot), a recent video of Terry Jones and Michael Palin revisiting all the old locations from the movie, and an educational film: "How To Use Your Coconuts" (really funny). It's also got Sing-Along videos of "Knights of the Round Table", "Brave Sir Robin" and the Monks Chant. The latter has some especially funny spoken instructions at the beginning which I felt I should share with you, so I've typed it out here:
To sing along with the Benedictine monks, follow these simple instructions.
One: Place one hand on each side of the DVD box.
Two: Lift the box until it is parallel with the forehead.
Three: Now strike yourself sharply on the forehead with the box of the DVD.
Did that hurt? No? Then you're not doing it hard enough. Lift the box again, only sideways this time. Now bang yourself on the forehead with the sharp end of the box, until the blood begins to show and the white bone of your skull starts to protrude from the jagged gash of flesh-filled tissue that was once your face, HAHA, HAHAHAHAHA!!!! (sound of door opening, footsteps) Ah! No! Not again! Lemme go! Lemme go! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! (fade out, captioned video of chanting monks starts) |
