Should get your foot in your mouth much faster. ;-P
My question postulated two different entities. If there was only one entity, I would have worded it differently: A god tells you he "I am the only god", and then he comes back and tells you "I am the only god, but I'm not the one you talked to earlier".
This is clearly a different case, but the result is that you are still screwed. If the gods are going to lie and play tricks on you, you have no hope.
If, on the other hand, it was just some guy saying that, you have the option of smacking him in the nose.
Either way, the distinction is NOT in your mind. It is a real thing. You may not be able to recognize the distinction, though, and that's why you're so confused.
Which leads us to the point of the "real shape" argument you obviously just threw together from spare bits lying about. You do _not_ "know" if you are seeing the real one or not. I never said you would - but the shape you do see (read "see" as "think you see") might say a lot about your own psyche, and I've been in enough dark, damp, smelly places without venturing into that one. |
