I can't remeber if it actually was "tverdy znak" or "yat" that was omitted (the difference is that the former is still present in some places in Russian language), but that's not the point. The point is that in old grammar, that letter (which is silent) used to be appended to the end of every noun that ended in a consonant. Will that fill 300 pages? Well, how big are the pages and what kind of font are you using? -- Random user # 314
