Professional driver on closed course-don't attempt by YakkoWarner 2002-06-13 09:52:01
There is a commercial for a Ford (I think) truck on American TV now. An alien ship is flying across the desert, beaming rocks and cactuses (cacti?) up into the ship. A truck appears, driving along a dirt highway. The alien ship flys over to it and engages its tractor beam. Instead of picking up the truck, instead the truck pulls the alien ship along until the truck goes under a bridge, into which the alien ship smacks.

What gets me is the caption that appears as this is going on: "Professional driver on closed course. Do not attempt." Now I know people are stupid enough that, if a company shows some special effect on TV, said company is likely to get its butt sued off the first time an idiot tries to recreate it in real life (and given our legal system, it's likely said idiot will win a large sum of money from said company). But against what exactly are they advising? Driving along a desert highway? Driving under a bridge? Or pulling a UFO into a bridge as it has you locked on with a tractor beam?

This belongs in the "Planters Nuts. Caution: May contain nuts" category.
