I can remember taking English course through the summer...mainly because I had a rather strong disagreement with the regular English teacher. She refused to write anything on the chalk-board, insisting that we take "lecture notes" even though I had badly sprained my right thumb. The ensuing argument managed to get me a "spare" during that time slot. ;-)
Anyway, the summer English teacher decided that since we were receiving a full credit we would do the full course load...in 24 days. Seven novels, including : 1984, Brave New World, Anthem, Hiroshima, Fahrenheit 451, etc.
Very well written "classic" books but one after another after another? And they wonder about the sucide rate among teenagers. |
