I did read W&P. I remember thinking afterwards that I would've killed Leon Tolstoy were he alive. I hated that book, and it took me all summer to finish it. Although I do have to give Tolstoy major accolades for writing an incredibly sweeping epic, I was continually irritated by his pedantry. It ruined the book for me. Anna Karenina I found was a little better, except for the 70-odd pages on the philosophy of potato farming.
