Thats when it all started ... with the Monkeys.
Actually I don't give much about Ms Spears, as much as I have seen (and trust me that is not much) she makes a great show on stage. Singing, well ... her voice is not 'that' great, but she can sing and has a well trained voice. What I like/dislike about her is that it could have been any girl ... the songs are written by somebody else (Yahh, like anybody cares, huh?) and the marketing is made by guys worth there money. Somebody like her was needed to fill up a gap ... at the moment somebody decided that statistic seem there is an audianc to get she had just luck to be there ... otherwise we would see an other girl etc etc ... of course she can sing and dance, otherwise she wouldn't been picked.
But, that was not the reason why I posted that! The reason was:
a) in SW Ep2 such an n'sync guy played (have seen the movie, have no clue who he was) but, it was on SlashDot and everybody on the net talked about it. (see the QOTD)
b) for some, for me not understandable, reason a lot of geeks and guys in the IT eighter like or hate her. (One of my friends allways tells me tons of information about her, till I stop him with 'I don't care!' ... as far as I know, he likes her coz of the abdomen-muscels)
c) a combination of the fakt that people talked mounths about an n'sync guy acting in SW and that ppl in the IT eighter seem to hate or love Ms. Spears and we have -> "something that would make a good internet rumor"
My Personal opinion (just if somebody REALLY cares) - nope, She does not make the kind of music that attracts me. But I bought the last few CD's from Madonna and when she arrived, I didn't liked her music as well ... ( Holiday!! Horrible!!!) ... Maybe in a few years a Britney AudioDVD will find it's way into my collection, who knows. (who cares?)
