Back to UserFriendly Strip Comments Index

Question of the Week by Capt. X2002-06-12 00:21:32
  Two Ideas by Buffy_Fett 2006-11-19 12:55:59
Stolen blatantly from CRFH!!!

1.) Make (an) archive CD(s) available, possibly even add in the comments to the comics, and sell it. This would be really cool for people with slow internet conenctions, as they can pop in the CD and browse, say, from the beginning to whenever, loading everything locally so as to not tie up a alow internet connection. If you added in the comments (though this may be hard to do) then all the links to diaries and outside sites could still work if you were connected. Of course, depending on how ARS is writted all the links might not be able to be ported to a local source.

Also there could be a "CD-only" mini-series, that wouldn't have any effect on any other strips but would be a bonus for those purchasing the CD rather than just DLing all the strips and burning them to a CD.

This would definitely be a good purchse for those with narrowband connections, and it would also be cool for marketing as you could lend the CD to a friend and get them hooked. CD Title: The UF Productivity Virus ;-)

2.) Make a UF comic book. I'm sure there have to be some sequences that would require a comic book format rather than a daily 3 panel strip. UF:TNG is kind of like this, maybe you could make a full comic book out of it. Or something else along these lines. I would defintely buy a full-length UF comic book and I'm certain that there are many others who would also.

I seriously think that both these would be large yet fairly easy-to-accomplish moneymakers, is anyone else with me?
