The idea is to protect those that have not been exposed to such things from exposure here.
Obviously there are many places for the innocent readers to be exposed to it on the net and in school (amusing sister anectdote goes here)
It is my belief that we do not wish to be the one's responsible for that corruption. Sure they'll get exposed to it, but not by us if we can help it.
I think fourteen is a wishful number more than an actual number. It's how innocent a child of that age should be. Sure some have sex at that age, do drugs, smoke, make sleazy films, but that's not how we would wish our Fourteen year old sister to be.
I sometimes wonder if 14 year old daughter would be better, but then I realize the care a lot of parents take of their children so I know that will still be just as argued.
