to point out a couple things about transporting this type of device.

While I haven't looked for any data yet, I feel safe in assuming that the likely problems for the US Army in transporting this type of device (though I have to seriously doubt the likelihood of it's consideration) include the danger of radiation leaks. In order to make it 'leak-proof', it would be too sturdy to detonate effectively. This would not be a problem for terrorists, they don't care if they are going to die of radiation poisoning in a few years/months/days because all they care about is delivering the payload, they 'go to Allah and their reward' when they die for the cause. They could theoretically fill the trunk of a car with radioactive waste and the back seat with high explosives and detonate it in the middle of a city. They'd be happy, because they got their job done as far as they're concerned.
