...over "C++", since you can't quite "ignore it", the way you can in "C++".

Not entirely sure whether I'd call it "clean", though it is one of the "cleaner" cases. Partly a matter of "it's been a while": I'm more likely to be writing VHDL, than anything else, given a choice. Nothing like real, physical concurrency to challenge all the assumptions of exclusive access that "pure software people" get to make.
