I can see that if you are trying to fit instructions on some space bound system...you have to start dinking around with how the compiler deals with things like that- and a goto might save you when the optimizer fails. But I'm guessing that the majority of coders aren't concerned with those kinds of constraints anymore- and that usage of goto is on the lazy side.
