No matter who is in office, wherever they are, whatever they do, there are people that will find fault. Until you or I have had that kind of responsibility, it's kinda pointless to argue.
I agree that apathy is a large problem.
I realized when I posted the last comment that "planet" was probably the wrong word to use. If you know anything about me, you know that I am a Christian. I essentially believe that the planet was created for us, humans, and we are basically all that matters. Now before you get on my case, I will add that as the rulers of the planet, we have the responsibility for treating it well. This isn't something we're doing well, unfortunately. Do I believe that we should waste natural resouces so we can drive around SUVs? No. Do I put human life above conservation of materials or animal life? Yes I do. I personally am frightened about the possibility of WWIII, but I have not resigned myself to that fate. If you have then I feel sorry for you, that has to be somewhat depressing.
And it's gonna be kinda hard to be "PO'ed beyond comprehension" if you are "a fine ash" ;-)
As to Isreal and that situation, that's a completely different thread that has been rehashed too many times, and I stay out of it.
