          As I see it by Buffy_Fett 2002-06-11 08:14:09
An operation that large is meant to prove a point. To prove that point someone needs to take credit. AFAIK, only Bin Laden has the resources, the motive, and the stupidity to take credit for this act. If you hadn't done it, then why would you want the world's largest superpower ticked off at you? Plus if he didn't do it and is taking credit for it, then there's some other large group that is gonna be mad at him for taking credit for their accomplishment. So now he has 2 large groups mad at him. Despite the ridicule and scorn we heap on him, I cannot believe he would be this stupid. As it is, he may have done an act that we would consider "stupid" by taking down the Twin Towers, and now he is going to pay the price for that. I do not believe he will survive. But you have to admit that as an act of terrorism, it was probably the best he could have done. He will be remembered, and that was likely his true goal all along.

NOTE: I do not in any way endorse terrorism, support it, justify it, etc. I think 9-11 was a horrible tragedy and Bin Laden should pay. All I offer is that he did what he wanted to do remarkably well, as horrible as it is to us.
