i'm in the middle of reading it right now - its a pretty good book but what i've seen of the movie in reviews and whatnot, it looks to be a disappointment compared with some of the others. (I like Hunt for Red October both movie and book). As far as cigarette machine, I didn't know they were illegal. I see them occasionally around here. The creepiest thing about the book is that some stuff in real life is paralleling events in the book.
