Ok, here we go again. Slackware is among the best distros out there, if you want to learn about linux. I tried RedHat first, but literally learned nothing. I then moved to Slack, and haven't left since. Slack forces you to do things yourself. You *can* use RPM's with slack (redhat packages), and Slackware has it's own package tool, pkgtool. I don't reccomend either. There's nothing like seeing the software you configured and compiled by hand working properly. There's plenty of HOWTOs and READMEs out there, so there's no real shortage of information. Google is your friend.
