| I just read the notice about the membership fees, and have a question about the whole thing. I've been a UF Comic reader for about 2 and a half years. I fell in love with the comic when I first read it, and went through all of the archives, in order, from day 1. I've never paid much attention to anything else on the site, including the postings and chatter board (no offense guys and gals). I've got the daily static page set as my homepage so I can see the new strip upfront when I bring up my browser window daily. Now there's talk of a membership fee....but nothing really as a statement of consequence for those who remain annonymous viewers that never sign up. Will the comic strip itself become unavailable for non-subscribers? Granted, if UF goes under altogether, no one gets it...but barring that, how about it? I mean, how will UF get new viewers and members if the average everyday non-committal Joe can't even see the comic itself? I'm not trying to be an arse or anything like that - just am concerned about the possibility of being excluded from viewing what I consider to be a "choice" comic strip due to membership fee issues...and am as deeply concerned about not being able to share the comic with my friends as I have been for the last couple of years (hey man, check out userfriendly.org - funny stuff man, no joke!). Sorry for the huge block of text that no one will probably read.... I was on my way to bed when I saw the note from Illiad and felt a need to pose the question and had to hurry before the wife started yelling at me... ;) (so no formatting). Thanks, and cya around folks! |
