| hrm, first post ever here. This irks me, the net can be free, we just have to scale our expectations to what free can be (just like we scale our expectations about free software - we don't expect 24/7 phone support, or a fancy GUI, or even a fully functional product:) ). Granted subsidised projects (anyone remember purple crayon from MIT?) are great but while the net was built, physically, on subsidies the 'original' content was largely built for nothing, by people who wanted to share something. I'm not saying you shouldn't get paid (and I love your work BTW) but that ... working on web pages should be more like working on open source software projects, don't you think? |
