Interesting concept, but it definitley has its difficulties. Basically it would make people limit the amount they post. This would pretty much end all useless nonsense posts, and flamewars would be a thing of the past. I would hate to see people having to carefully weigh every single post to see if they think it's "worth the money" or not.

Now a possible solution, though I would have similar problems, is to set up "levels" of some type. Say if you post <50 messages a month, you wouldn't have to pay (one to two a day). So on and so on, there is a limit like maybe >1000 posts/month at which you pay a "max" amount and you get unlimited posts. This way the regulars (who probably all have memberships, or are the most likely to get them) don't have to worry about posting amounts, while those of us who post little to never don't have to worry about it, yet we can still enjoy the comic and ad-click for support. Of course, then UF is no longer quite as "free", you would have to have people fill out billing information when they sign up (definitely a turn-off), and I don't know what you would do with people who wouldn't/couldn't pay. I would hate to see a long-time UFie be disabled becasue they couldn't afford their bill one month.
