| is the hard drive? I have had poor luck with Maxtor. Maybe it's just me, as I've heard others swear by them. Me, I just swear at them!
I bought a brand new Maxtor and it bit the dust about 3 months later. It didn't completely fail, but rather the system wouldn't recognize it half the time I booted, so I was able to get a good boot and transfer everything to the new advance replacement drive.
But the replacement only lasted 3 months too and it died completely. I bought a Western Digital (which I'm still using over 2 years later) and sold the 2nd replacement Maxtor. Fortunately, I do backups, but it had been about 2 weeks, so I lost that much. Could have been worse. |
