To answer your question directy, yes I would be bother by pop-up ads on UF. Then again, I am already bothered to some extent by the banner ads already on here. But I am willing to accept banner ads as part of the Internet experience. Banners require no user interaction to avoid. Pop-ups are annoying, you have to get rid of them before you can view the content of page, or the pop unders that appear on your screen when you close a browser window. I consider popups offensive and rude. I make it a habit to avoid sites that employ pop-ups. I would make an exception for UF though. http://www.ufmedia.com/why.html touts that 92% of the UF audience have been online 5 years or more. I have no evidence to support this theory, but I believe they would be the most unlikely to click through.
