Nope, Midway was known as "The Battle of Midway," which happens to have taken place around Midway Island, which isn't even mildly close to the Phillipines. :)
If memory serves, that battle was known as the Battle of Leyte Gulf. It was the last massive naval action between the US Navy and the Imperial Japanese Navy.
