Columbus Crew stadium has been hosting World Cup parties at the stadium ... they've been open from 1am to 10am (Eastern) during the cup. Lots of big screen TVs, free drinks ... good time. That has nothing to do with the match, really, but I think it's so cool they've been doing this for absolutely no charge, they deserved the plug.

Now ... that was not the same US team that put Portugal down three goals in a bit more than half an hour. I don't know what was wrong, but they just didn't play like they could have. They did have a tremendous disadvantage - S. Korea had the biggest home field advantage imaginable. The ref was acting like a homer. On paper the US should have put S. Korea away easily.

What really ticks me off the most if the fact that Jeff Agoos is directly responsible for all three goals that have been scored against the US. He was marking Beto on the Figo corner, and lost him - Beto scored. Against Korea, again, he lost his man who subsequently scored. And don't get me started on the own-goal.

Regardless, Korea played an excellent match. They deserved at least the tie they got. Props to them.

My man of the match - Big Bad Brad Friedel. Incredible showing between the pipes.
