i included what i_am_pi suggested and now i am getting some results ... where the counter should be i now see [an error occurred while processing this directive] and in my error.log i see [Mon Jun 10 17:40:04 2002] [error] [client 217.230.13.105] invalid CGI ref "/cgi-bin/textcounter.pl" in f:/apache group/apache/htdocs/index.shtml
