This IS Super Hero Physics, after all. It wasn't mere radiation - it was radiation with a purpose. And it was the spider, not the man, who was irradiated. If the spider then bites the man, who can say what strange powers would be conferred? Besides, before the movie started, they had a trailer (does that even make sense?) for "The Hulk". Looks like somebody dropped the middle word, but we'll let that slide for now. It's definitely on the "Must See" list.
