| After all, with an irradiated spider, most of the audience would have expected Mr. Parker to simply die of radiation poisoning. And that wouldn't have been very exciting. (Oooh, conspiracy theory: The spider was irradiated, Peter was dying of radiation poisoning all along. Everything in the movie after the bite scene isn't real - what the audience sees are what passes in front of his eyes as he lies unconscious in the hospital, but the nuclear power companies don't want us to know ...) But genetic engineering, now there's a possibility for creating some suspension of disbelief. |
