That just goes to show where the problem came from... As someone else said - would you be prepared to watch your family starve for 10 years so as to follow US rules? I don't think it'd be that difficult to absorb them, in a population of 250M+ and your land area, although it'd be tough in the border states for a while, provided your Gov't spent some time and money figuring it out first! BTW - Imagine what it would have been like in 1845 if there'd been a 10-year wait on Irish Immigrants... <Aside> I checked just now & they estimate 1.5M went to the US during the famine...</Aside>
