If, for example, we managed to blow Australia into little flecks of rocks and dirt that sank into the ocean, we could safely stop teaching that Australia is a continent, because it's not. Man would have changed that, just as man changed the continuity of the Americas.

I think that the human is about as all-powerful on this planet as a thing can get without resorting to deity status.
