is the border between North and South America the southern border of Mexico? North and South America are are one contigious land mass and should have always been one continent. The reason thye weren't considered on continent was that the early European explorers insisted that there had to be away "though the americas". There wasn't (until the US created an artificial one, which does not qualify as a break in the continent). Geographers are just not starting to fix the error, along with the error that Europe and Asia are separate continents.
