nobody gave their word to abide by the rules of the board... they aren't even posted anywhere permanent... we do however let people know the rules if they violate them... normally if they violate them because they didn't know, they're excused... if they do the same thing again, they're in trouble... but nobody had to sign or check anything saying they agreed to the rules as a condition of being allowed to post... so the "given word" thing doesn't really apply...
