Please. This is real life we are talking about. Why did you completely ignore the warning in that article? There is no doubt that the right information, properly interpreted, could potentially help us. But we already HAVE that information! We just don't know how to interpret it, it's mixed in with tons of other information, and it's not always used for our benefit as it is. Adding yet another layer of beaurocracy into the mix will never be a good thing. The main reason this is being done is to relieve Dubbya of the pressure from his current scandals. The secondary benefits - which are not anticipated - are a huge amount of control over our lives and the ability to dig up any information that would be politically useful. This has nothing to do with protecting the country.
