Planning permission is controlled by byelaws and local councils. It is a civil, not criminal offence. It has nothing to do with the flag itself, per se.
However, with the proliferation of flags and rise in public patriotism due to the Jubilee and World Cup, I doubt they will take it any further (unless it is a HUUUUUUGE flag, in which case they might feel constrained to act). Either way, get a local newspaper onside, and breezeblock can take them to the cleaners (or at least force them to back off). |
