Make SURE you go down to Fisherman's Wharf and go to Boudin's. Boudin's makes the BEST sourdough that you have ever had in your life. And at their restaurant thing, they will cut you off a slice, put some Gruyere on top and broil it, so the cheese gets all warm and melty, and the bread gets all crunchy...*drools*
Now another place you have to go is Ghiradelli Square. Ghiradelli makes chocolate. That's not absolutely true. Ghiradelli creates chocolate. Nothing that good can be said to be made. So what you're going to do, is you're going to go to Ghiradelli Square and order a sundae. They make the BEST sundae in the world. With lots of extremely high-quality chocolate. Mmm...*drools again*
One more place that is fun to go is the Exploratorium. It's a big science museum with lots of hands-on experiments and stuff. In fact, most everything is hands-on. There are lots of very good demonstrations of physics, biology, chemistry, any branch of science you'd care to name. WARNING: It will be crowded, it's a very popular attraction in SF.
