I'm happy for you. It's better to have a chunk of what you need than none of it at all.

It's unbelievable that there are still people out there who DON'T do regular backups. Back when I did tech support, a frantic person at a small company called because their hard drive had crashed. I asked when the last backup was. *dead silence* They had been in business for five years and had ALL of their company records on that ONE machine and they had NEVER done a backup. I thought the guy was gonna cry. I put him in touch with a data recovery service but didn't get his hopes up.

Isn't it so true that you only have to suffer that kind of loss once before you institute regular backup procedures? That same guy called me back several weeks later wanting a UPS and a ZIP drive. I suggested a few models and then put him through to sales. I bet he's the most shrill proponent of backups in his office now. I also told him he needed to take the tapes offsite.
