Ah yes, the "I have a solution, but I forgot to implement it" syndrome: another great ADD problem. I don't know how many times I've made a to-do list, but then forgotten to consult the list. Sheesh.

  • To-do list: on current page of daytimer which lies open on the desk.
  • Current item: on sticky on computer screen.
  • Keys: hanging from cell phone (in charger) so I won't forget my cell phone
  • Other things important in daily life: in backpack which I hardly ever forget to take with me.
If it sounds like I have to program my whole life with little tricks, you're right, I do. I don't usually talk about them because most people just don't believe they're necessary. They think I ought to "just focus more". My family says that a lot, then they wonder why I don't come visit more often. Oh darn, I was going to avoid going down the bitterness path... um, ok...

My suggestion to everyone with ADD: repeat with me the great mantra: "Do what works. Do what works. You don't need anyone's permission to do what works."
