Calling these mistakes is begging the question. Define - this imperative is a wee bit juvenile, don't you think? Educated - think of someone with at least the same level as yourself. Average here is not a mathematical concept, it means "on the whole" or "in general". Precise - yes they generally use expressions that are more accurate. Generalization, my friend, is a relative term.
