It was in a vice. I was taking it out (which is why my gloves were off) and my finger just slipped past the edge of the cloth. Not a serious burn - just annoying. I get them all the time, price of my art and all that.

Now if the crettins in this building would just learn to use a phone and stop trying to dial out before they get a dialtone and causing the M$-PABX to have a hissy and throw everyone else off their lines things would be just great.

These are international university students! I think telephone usage skills should be a pre-requisite for entry to university, don't you?

Of course if this leading Chinese Technology University actually had a real internet connection...

Well actually they do, they just don't know how to install it. Management hasn't realised they have a whole comp-sci department full of aspiring MCSEs... oh... forget it!

I hope to do the install myself this summer break. The management is enthusiastic, but then they are also enthusiastic about fixing the hot water supply, fixing the eletrical problem that makes me have to unplug my UPS every night, and fixing my air-con which I ended up fixing myself. We'll see if this is real enthusiasm or just the usual Chinese management hot-air.
