The thing about trolls and flamewars, at least the truly good, artistic trolls and flamewars, is they were (since they don't seem to exist anymore) eminently *watchable*.
Flamewars were the net equivalent of reality-tv (watchable, but only for a short while, then they were tedious).
Trolls are another beast entirely. There are your everyday trolls who I am happy to drop into kill-files, and then there are the troll masters, those who can suck in the gullible, and even the not so gullible, through their sublimely artistic constructs. *They* were truly worth watching (especially when you realized they were trolls when others didn't). |
