Hey mods! I caught some discussions earlier in the day about certain borderline words. I then noticed that one of the people PROTESTING those uses was practising a thing that I find offensive and stupid.
If certain words are offensive, does it make a bit of difference that you use "*" to blank out two or three letters? I will admit to having used this tactic in discussions, but not to insult or demean someone, and then hide behind the "I used "*" so it's OK." excuse. Can y'all look into this, and let me know what you decide?
To everyone else: If it is offensive without "*", it's offensive with. The meaning is the same. Don't try to hide behind stupid tricks. Either be rational and use appropriate language, or have the guts to admit what you're doing and accept the consequences. |
