Well... I applied to three Ontario universities - Queen's, Guelph, and Wilfrid Laurier. Time goes by, I get accepted to Queen's and Guelph. I don't hear from Laurier, so I call to see if I've been accepted or not. I have. And I've gotten a $750 entrance scholarship. I got a $500 one from Guelph, and nothing from Queen's.
Having no real preference between the three, and planning on getting an English degree, I decide to go to the one that gives me the most money. So I'm set. I'm going to Laurier. I just need the acceptance letter so I can fill out the forms and apply for residence and stuff, 'cause I'm coming from BC. I wait, and I wait and I wait. I call again, and there's been an error, but the forms are now in the mail.
The deadline for having your acceptance of the acceptance back to the uni is coming up, and I still haven't gotten my forms. So I call again. From school. During class. Why do I do this? The office is only open on weekdays, and it's only open during my school hours. (three hour time difference sucks). Finally they *fax* forms to my mum. At home. While I was at school. The day before the forms were due. And they had to be mailed. My sister had to fill them out and guess which residence choices I'd make and sign for me, and my mum had to DRIVE TO THE AIRPORT to get the damn forms out to the uni on time.
I got the acceptance form in the mail... two weeks later.
Why oh why didn't I just go to Guelph? *sigh* |
