Motherboard Choice by slacktime 2002-06-03 11:46:48
I bought a new motherboard (MSI SiS 745 Ultra) and had real problems with it. IDE problems and BIOS. Now I'm returning the board and having to make a new selection. This was the first time I've tried MSI so maybe it was a fluke bad board, but I'm looking for some thoughts from other builders on the following boards:

MSI KT3 ULTRA (MS-6380E-010) VIA KT333 DDR ATA133 SocketA MOTHERBOARD (to give MSI another chance)

Shuttle AK35GT2 Motherboard for AMD Processors

Asus VIA A7V333 Chipset ATX Motherboard

EPOX 8K3A KT333CE DDR333 266MHz FSB ATA133 Socket A MOTHERBOARD

As you can see I'm looking for AMD mobo with KT333 chipset, ATA 133 bus, 166 optional, Raid optional

I don't overclock (at least haven't in the past) and system stability is very important to me. If you have suggestions that meet these requirements of boards I haven't mentioned feel free to suggest them. Anyone with experience with these boards please let me know what you think.

Thanks,
Ed
