It's been my goal to get into the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. Today, I call to see what's going on with my transfer application (its was being re-evaluated because of a slip up my old high school made) and they were telling me that my application was going to be reviewed at 2:00 PM Est. I asked them if I could possibly get my newest transcripts faxed over there because a 3.84 looks a lot better than a 3.65. They gave me a list of instructions of what to do, so I had to drive to my school, which is about a half hour away.
I drive as fast as I can (going over the speed limits) in this crappy, rainy weather. The rain was thick, and actually cumulated on several of my windows. I make it to Flint, and I have to run all the way to the other side of campus to get my transcripts. I get to the Registar's office, they tell me to fill out a sheet. I explain how I have to fax the transcript, and they tell me I have to pay for the copy to fax, and that I have to fax is "unoffically" because UM-Flint doesn't fax to UM-Ann Arbor, though I eyed this nice little fax machine in the background.
Also, because I was physically taking the transcript, I had to pay for it. So I had to run around to the cashier's area to do that, which took 5 minutes, for a $4 purchase. I run back, get my transcript, and looked for a place to send my fax.
The poeple at the registart told me to go to the post office, who promptly told me that they don't send faxes. I try to head over to kinkos, which for some reason was closed. I had no idea where I could send a fax, except for my old high school. So I drive, once again in the crappy weather, back to my old high school, where I did manage to get the fax sent, but I don't know if the people reviewing my application will review it in time. But that will be done in about 10 minutes, so now I get to sit here and act nervous. |
