the space program is necessary and should never be thought of otherwise. the only part that bothers me is how NASA wastes money training 'non-astronauts' so they can go into space. we do not need teachers and pop-stars in space. these people are just taking up seats that should be occupied by scientists. why spend money to modify astronaut training for someone who will not have anything to contribute once in space? jv
