well over a billion people call that region of earth home. however, if said billion plus people either want to start fissioning dozens of pounds of uranium and plutonium over each other (I love this fact, one asprin sized tablet of plutonium is enough to kill 300,000,000 people) or do not care enough to try and stop this from happpening to themselves (even if only one quarter of them stage a coup it's well more than enough), then I have little remorse. they are fighting over a chunk of land 86,000 square miles in size. it is extremely mountainous and has few natural resources. before england left the region, they split the subcontinent into two countries to help ease the religious infighting. pakistan is primarily islamic, india hinu. kashmir is islamic and wants to leave india to be its own state or join pakistan. I can see little reason to hold on to the region. they want to leave. there are state sanctioned terrorists killing in kashmir and india to force the government to release it. you may as well ask jordan and israel to sit down and settle their differences by thumb wresting. the nature of man is to want and take. it once was a survival tactic and has merely been turned towards killing to take land. in part, it seems to be one of the few checks on human population left. natural disasters and disease are being fought back by western society in some twisted "save the world" sort of desire to control what we as humans should not be able to. war and killing is one of the most effective population checks becuase people will willingly risk their lives and the lives of those around them in the act.
