never had much luck with that route, myself. Even if it did work, that usually only lasted a couple of days at best. Of course the format route is longer and is a huge pain b/c you have to find all your old install disks and setup programs for any software you downloaded, plus patch and/or upgrade all of that... not to mention futzing with the settings to get things back the way you like them.
