No, you are right.
But that is exactly my point.
That there are groups out there already trying to make such controls voluntary, and desireable, in the corporate world. By making mandated regulations, you take way some of the priciples of free enterprise. IMO, ISO and CMM certifications are a good voluntary system, and by making those certifications desireable, they will seperate the good from the bad.

And the fact that you are an ISO coordinator does not in any way diminish my opinion of you. *grin* (just kidding)
