seeking advice by nawft 2002-05-02 16:56:42
I am a COBOL programmer by trade. Recently I've decided that it's time to acquire proficiency in alternate technology.
I am not able to decide where to put my effort and would like to only focus it in one general area at a time.
I am looking to go into programming soething that has more openings to choose from than cobol currently does. I can't decide between VB, Java, or C#. If you have a recommendation please let me know why, and maybe what other supporting tech I'd need to know to get a job (since it seems unlikely knowing only a language will get me work). For instance VB would require COM or whatever else, Java would need JSP and so on.

Thanks very much for thine input.
