still looking for geek advice by roquentin2002-04-28 09:45:47
To show people that you can survive without a life by bugarup 2006-11-19 12:55:59
Now that we've got the "geek advice" part over with, here's the reason why I haven't committed suicide so far:
<serious>Curiosity. I have a deep desire to know what happens next. One thing I hate is having to stop in the middle of a good movie - metaphorically speaking, suicide is just that. Except that you don't get the chance to watch the same movie again. I believe it's possible to get a different movie (i.e. I believe in reincarnation), though to do so without properly finishing the current movie would be a waste.
I don't know how long my movie will be, but statistically speaking, I still have five-eighths of it to watch. And though the current events may seem dull and depressing, they can turn out to be a major plot element later on when it gets exciting. There's so many things that could still happen. For example, I've never been in love. I'm still a virgin, and not even ashamed to say so. I've never played my saxophone in front of an audience. I still have to see if going to that English school was the right decision to make. I want to see what line of work I'll eventually end up in. Or, to take a more short-term example: I want to see tomorrow's UF strip. I want to know if nin_man will ever utter these famous words. I already hope to see HellaHulla make his great comeback.
I'm amazed how far I was able to stretch this metaphor. Does anyone want to add to it?</serious>
